Poland to open new diplomatic missions in Switzerland and Lichtenstein
By mid-march Poland will open a new Embassy building in Bern, Switzerland, as well as new Honorary Consulates in Schaan, Liechtenstein, and Basel, Switzerland, PAP was told on Thursday.
Poland's Deputy Foreign Minister Szymon Szynkowski vel Sek, told PAP on Thursday evening that "relations with both countries (Switzerland and Liechtenstein - PAP) are equally important for us due to the great business potential, and in the case of Switzerland cooperation with the Polish diaspora, the protection of national heritage abroad as well as historical matters. This is why, for the first time in history, we are opening a Honorary Consulate in Basel and the same type of institution in Liechtenstein."
The Polish Honorary Consulate in Basel will officially open on 9 March and be led by Swiss furniture tycoon Daniel Pfirter. Poland - Switzerland and Poland - Liechtenstein government consultations on a deputy ministerial level will accompany the openings of the new consulates.
On 10 March the deputy foreign ministers of Poland and Switzerland will attend the opening of the new Polish Embassy building in Bern.
