Poland will host the next edition of WeCosmoprof, the world's largest cosmetics fair, in October. According to Polish development ministry, the event will provide Polish cosmetics companies with an opportunity to increase their orders.

The fair, planned to be held in a remote format amid the COVID-19 pandemic, will be an opportunity for Polish entrepreneurs to strengthen trade relations with buyers and establish new contacts, the ministry said.

The beauty sector in Poland is one of the largest exporters of Polish products, and despite the pandemic, the export of cosmetics from Poland is still growing.

According to the Central Statistics Office (GUS), the country's foreign sales of cosmetic products increased by 6 percent from January to July 2020.

The ministry's experts said that the industry reacted very quickly to recent market changes and took advantage of new export opportunities, significantly increasing supplies to difficult markets, to which it previously had less access. For example, exports to Sweden and Denmark increased by 16 percent, and to Switzerland, by over 80 percent.

Over 3,000 people exhibitors and over 40,000 merchants participated in the previous edition of the WeCosmoprof fair in June, also held remotely.
