Poland has the best chance of being the "dark horse" of the 2018 FIFA World Cup football tournament, says a multinational team of analysts at the Japanese bank Nomura.

According to the economists, Poland will defeat Germany in the quarterfinals, but will lose to Brazil in the match for third place. In their opinion, the tournament will be won by France, which will defeat Spain in the final.

"We’re betting on France to win the World Cup, but Spain, Germany and Brazil also have a good chance," they added.

In their opinion, Poland will triumph over Germany in the quarterfinals.

"We expect our 'safe bets' to reach the semi-finals, namely France, Brazil and Spain, as well as Poland, which in our opinion has the best chance of becoming the dark horse of the championships," they wrote.

"Belgium and Germany will make it to the final eight, but they’ll be eliminated by Brazil and Poland, respectively," they added.

Also, in the early portion of tournament, Poland is expected to win over England.
