Poland records budget surplus at end-May - minister

Poland closed May with a budget surplus of PLN 9.4 billion (EUR 2.1 billion), the Polish finance minister informed PAP on Wednesday.

Tadeusz Koscinski said the surplus was the effect of increased budget revenues in May, which were 25.5 percent higher than in May 2020.

He added that first five months of this year saw a 15.5-percent year-on-year rise in budget revenues.

Poland's 2021 budget foresees revenues at PLN 404.4 billion (EUR 89.3 billion), expenses at PLN 486.7 billion (EUR 107.4 billion) and a budget deficit of no more than PLN 82.3 billion (EUR 18.2 billion).
