Poland's PGNiG oil and gas corporation has received the third consignment of US LNG under a long-term deal with the US Cheniere company, PGNiG CEO Jerzy Kwieciński said on Tuesday.

After regasification, the 70,000-tonne transport will yield around 100 million cubic metres of natural gas.

Kwieciński said that US gas supplies help ensure Poland's gas security. He added that LNG supplies under the contract with Cheniere will rise considerably after 2022, and will reach up to 2 billion cubic metres annually.

Poland received its first US gas in the summer of 2019. The 24-year deal with Cheniere Energy Inc. was sealed on November 8 2018.
