Poland receives extra 3 mln tonnes of coal - minister
To date, an additional 3 million tonnes of coal has come to Poland, with State Treasury companies having contracted more than 7 million tonnes, the climate and environment minister has said.
Anna Moskwa told a press conference on Tuesday: "Until today, the additional amount that has come through Polish ports is over 3 million tonnes of coal. At the same time, state-owned companies today have contracted more than 7 million tonnes. I'm only talking about State Treasury entities."
According to her, the coal is being imported from Colombia, Tanzania, the USA, the Republic of South Africa, Australia and Indonesia.
On Monday, Mateusz Morawiecki, the prime minister, admitted that Poland faces coal shortages due to an embargo on Russian coal imposed when Russia invaded Ukraine.
