Poland may see 15,000- 20,000 daily COVID-19 cases next week - min

Next week Poland may see15,000 to 20,000 cases of new coronavirus infections a day, Health Minister Adam Niedzielski said on Monday, appealing for a serious attitude towards coronavirus-related restrictions.
Having admitted that this could happen if the number of new infections continue to grow at the current pace, Minister Niedzielski told reporters that the Health Ministry was getting ready for all possible scenarios, including the worst ones envisaging even 15,000-20,000 new cases daily.
The minister appealed to Poles to seriously treat all restrictions which were being introduced for two weeks now. He stated that wearing a face mask was a fundamental requirement, and that a person not wearing it was being irresponsible since they generate risk not only to their own safety but, above all, to the safety of others.
"A zero tolerance rule will surely be applied by police. But let me encourage all of us to tell people (not wearing a mask - PAP) that they expose us to danger," Minister Niedzielski said.
