Poland holds talks with NASA on space mission projects

The Polish Space Agency (POLSA) is holding talks with NASA on cooperation in building common devices and instruments for space missions and, above all, regarding space exploration, Aleksandra Bukala from POLSA has told PAP.

According to the institution, POLSA cooperates with NASA on the basis of concluded bilateral agreements, most often as a subcontractor of a partner from Europe, or within the European Space Agency (ESA), of which Poland has been a member since 2012, POLSA said.

In 2019, POLSA signed the Joint Statement on Cooperation in Space Exploration with NASA during the International Astronautical Congress 2019 congress in Washington, Bukala noted.

"We are currently talking to NASA about broadly understood cooperation and we do not rule out that it will also apply to start-ups," she added.

During last year's ESA Ministerial Council Meetings "Space 19+," Poland subscribed to joint investment projects, largely in cooperation with NASA, worth EUR 6 million over the next three years.
