Poland has spent over EUR 90 mln to fight pandemic around the world
Poland has allocated over PLN 400 million (EUR 90.9 million) to fight the COVID-19 pandemic around the world, including funding for research on the coronavirus, vaccines, drugs and tests, the Foreign Ministry reported on Monday.
In its report summarising Poland's activities in combating the pandemic, the ministry added that another PLN 56 million (EUR 12.7 million) is being spent on development and humanitarian aid.
According to the ministry, the aid benefits over 50 countries around the world.
"The coronavirus pandemic is a time when Europe and the world need solidarity more than ever. Poland is actively involved in helping the Eastern Partnership countries, Africa and the Middle East, as well as selected European countries in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic," the report reads.
Among other forms of aid, the ministry listed help from Polish doctors, in-kind donations, and support for social campaigns by Polish communities around the globe.
