Poland for fast track of Ukraine's EU membership, president says
The European Union should speed up Ukraine's path to membership, President Andrzej Duda said on Saturday.
"Poland supports an express path for membership of Ukraine in the European Union," Duda wrote on Twitter. "Candidate status should be granted immediately and membership talks should start immediately after."
"Ukraine should also have access to EU funds for reconstruction. This is what Ukraine deserves," Duda added.
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, has recently repeatedly expressed the conviction that the Ukrainian nation deserved membership of the European Union and that such a decision would be a very important element of support against Russian aggression.
