Poland 'first' in EU vaccination rate
Poland leads the EU's first-dose coronavirus vaccination ranking, the government's vaccination commissioner has said.
"The latest data shows that we are in first place in the EU when it comes to the percentage of people who have received at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine," said Michal Dworczyk in a tweet which also thanked all involved in the National Vaccination Programme.
He also attached a graph by Our World in Data, a scientific online publication, which put Poland first in the EU in percentage of population which has received at least one dose.
Poland topped the graph with the rate of 3.97 percent, followed by Greece (3.82 percent), Romania (3.72), Hungary (3.61), Sweden (3.61), France (3.39), Germany (3.36), Portugal (3.3) and Spain (3.27).
Bulgaria closes the ranking with a result of 0.84 percent.
According to Adam Niedzielski, the Polish health minister, 1.62 million Poles have received the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine and 770,000 the second one.
