Poland and the Baltic states have proposed a new package of EU sanctions on Russia, including a ban on nuclear cooperation and imports of Russian diamonds.

The proposed sanctions, authored by Poland, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia, also prohibit the sale of UAVs to Russia, including civilian models.

Among other proposals is an embargo on LPG products, marketing and market research services, and a ban on real estate transactions with Russian firms and citizens.

The four countries have also proposed restrictive measures against Belarus, which has been aiding Moscow in its war on Ukraine.

The EU imposed a broad package of sanctions on Russia after its invasion of Ukraine, but some member states, including Poland, believe they are insufficient to deter Russia from waging war on its neighbour.
