Poland arm in arm with Ukrainian friends says PM
Mateusz Morawiecki, the prime minister, has said in a joint message with the Ukrainian president that Poland has been standing arm in arm with its Ukrainian friends and partners.
"We will always support you," Morawiecki said in a joint recording with Volodymyr Zelensky published on Facebook on Sunday.
Referring to the Great Famine in Ukraine, known as the Holodomor, when communist Russia instigated the 1932-33 hunger period that killed millions of Ukrainians, Morawiecki said that, today, Russia "has been bringing death, hunger and hypothermia to civilians."
The Ukrainian president expressed his gratitude for the aid and support offered by Poland and thanked Morawiecki for his visit to Kyiv.
Morawiecki took part in a 'Grain from Ukraine' conference in Kyiv on Saturday and held a meeting with his counterparts from Ukraine and Lithuania as part of a trilateral cooperation format known as the Lublin Triangle.
