Poland among three biggest beer producers in EU - Eurostat
Poland was one of the EU’s three biggest beer producers in 2021, Eurostat, the EU's statistical office, reported on Tuesday.
Last year, just as in 2020, Germany was the top producer with 7.5 billion litres. This represents 23 percent of the total EU production of 33.1 billion litres of beer containing alcohol.
Germany was followed by Poland and Spain, both with 3.7 billion litres produced, or 11 percent of the total EU production. Next came the Netherlands with 2.5 billion litres, or 7 percent of the total.
The production of these four countries amounts to 52 percent of total EU beer production.
Trade data show that the Netherlands continued to lead as the top exporter of beer containing alcohol in 2021, just as in 2020.
