Poland advances in ranking of places seen as good to live
Poland has moved up ten places to 13th position in the HSBC Expat Annual League Table survey. This year Switzerland has taken the top spot, followed by Singapore and Canada.
The HSBC Expat Annual League Table survey is a global survey completed by 18,059 expats across the world. They were asked to give their views on quality of life, financial well-being and the ease of raising a family abroad.
Switzerland rose seven places to overtake perennial winner Singapore to be named as the best place to live and work as an expat. Spain and New Zealand rounded out the top five. They were followed by Australia, Turkey, Germany, the United Arab Emirates and Vietnam.
Poland, which placed 23rd in 2018, has been described as a good place to live since it offered the opportunity to develop one's professional career, improve private as well as professional skills, and to find the so called work/life balance.
As far as Switzerland is concerned, 82 percent of expats see there an improvement in their quality of life compared to their home country, 72 percent note cleaner and more pleasant surroundings and 42 percent feel healthier there than in their home country.
