PM would win first round of presidential election - survey

If Mateusz Morawiecki, the Polish prime minister, were to take part in the next presidential ballot as the ruling Law and Justice party candidate, he would win the first round of the election, the findings of a new IBRiS poll indicate.
In the poll conducted for Radio ZET, respondents were asked who they would vote for if the presidential election were to be held this Sunday. The results show that Mateusz Morawiecki would win the first round of the ballot with 33.8 percent of the votes.
In second place would be Rafal Trzaskowski, the mayor of Warsaw, with 30.4 percent support. Szymon Holownia, the leader of the Polska 2050 party, would take the last spot on the podium with 10.6 percent backing.
According to IBRiS, the declared voter turnout would reach 65.8 percent.
The poll was carried out on May 20-21 on a sample of 1,000 residents of Poland.
