PM sends Xmas wishes to Orthodox Church
I want to convey my most cordial wishes to all members of the Eastern Church in Poland. Let this feast bring you happiness, understanding, forgiveness and warmth, PM Mateusz Morawiecki tweeted on the eve of the Orthodox Church's Christmas Day (on or around January 7).
Orthodox Christians celebrate Christmas on January 7, the Christmas dates around January 7 vary among some churches. Many Orthodox Christians fast before January 7, usually excluding meat and dairy products.
The Orthodox Church in Poland numbers over 33,000 faithful, mainly in the provinces of Podkarpackie, Małopolskie, Warmińsko-Mazurskie, Zachodniopomorskie, Lubuskie and Dolnośląskie.
