PM says gov't in contact with flood-threatened regions
Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said on Twitter on Saturday that he and his interior and defence ministers were in stable contact with governors of provinces at risk of flooding.
In his tweet, PM Morawiecki referred to governors of the south and south-eastern provinces of Małopolskie, Podkarpackie, Śląskie and Świętokrzyskie.
"We are monitoring the flood risk situation on an on-going basis," the prime minister stressed, adding that the fire service, police and territorial defence forces had been deployed where required.
The Vistula River and its tributaries may see excessive water levels on Saturday and Sunday, the Government Security Centre (RCB) warned via Twitter on Saturday.
"The third-degree warning applies to the provinces of Podkarpackie and Lubelskie, and also to the Dolnośląskie Province, on the River Oder (second-degree warning)," the RCB said.
