Pharmaceutical market to grow by 8.7 percent y/y in 2019
The value of Poland's pharmaceutical market will grow to PLN 37.2 billion (EUR 8.7 billion) in 2019, up by 8.7 percent on the previous year, according to a report by PEX PharmaSequence, a company monitoring the market.
In October 2019, the market recorded sales of PLN 3.44 billion (EUR 801,341 million). The value of sales compared to the same period of 2018 increased by 8.1 percent. In monthly terms, sales increased by 11.9 percent.
An average Polish pharmacy recorded gross sales of PLN 245,500 (EUR 52,186) in October 2019, 13.7 percent more year on year.
The average retail price of drugs in October amounted to PLN 21.9 (EUR 5.1) and was 1.4 percent higher than in the previous month, and compared to the average price from October 2018, increased by 3.5 percent.
