OAP sends internet wild with his extraordinary transformation from portly pensioner into strapping senior
A Wałbrzych grandad has become an internet sensation after transforming from a paunchy OAP into a rippling biceped heartthrob.
Former PE teacher Wojciech Węcławowicz 67, let himself go after retiring and quickly fell into a pensioner lifestyle with a pensioner physique.
But after growing used to the sedentary life, he became inspired to get back into sports following a conversation with his son, Tomasz.
Wojciech said: “I had become comfortable sitting on my allotment on a deckchair with a beer and having a barbecue, and before I’d realised, the kilograms started piling up.”
With his son taking over his fitness routine, Wojciech quickly transformed from portly pensioner into a strapping senior, winning a silver medal in the Pentathlon at the Masters World Championships in Toruń in 2019.
Wojciech, who goes by the name fit_oldboy, now trains seven days a week and does more than 20 sports including ice skating, rollerblading, skiing, athletics, shotput and running.
And his YouTube videos, showing him doing a range of impressive workouts including jaw-dropping bar pullups, have clocked up over 6 million views.
Trainer son Tomasz said: “At the start, the aim was to improve the results of his medical tests, and when he started looking better we started doing mobility training to loosen up his joints and then moving on to more advanced workouts.”
