The majority of Poles plan to get the Covid-19 vaccine, according to a new survey.

The research by CBOS found that 56 percent want to get vaccinated, a 20-percent increase on a similar survey carried out in November.

Senior citizens want vaccinations the most, with 74 percent of the 65 and over age group declaring themselves ready to take it. The corresponding figure for the 18-24 group was 37 percent.

The main reasons for the reluctance to get vaccinated are the fear of side effects (78 percent) and doubts as to the effectiveness of the vaccine (35 percent).

CBOS ran the survey from January 4 to 14 on a sample group of 1,150 respondents.
