Over 40 percent of Poles fear country headed down wrong path - poll

Almost half of Poles (43 percent) are unhappy with the direction the country is headed, while 36 percent are satisfied, a new CBOS poll shows.

According to the results of the opinion poll, the satisfaction level concerning the general situation in the country dropped by 2 percentage points compared to May, while the dissatisfaction level increased by 1 percentage point.

The analysts also wrote that "although the percentage of positive assessments of the Polish economy remains at the same level (30 percent), the percentage of its critical assessments has fallen by 5 pps (25 percent versus 30 percent in May)."

As a result, for the first time since October 2020, positive assessments of the condition of the Polish economy outweighed the negative ones.

It was noted, however, that 38 percent of the respondents said they could not declare if the economic situation was better or worse (an increase of 4 pps compared to May).

The survey was carried out on June 7-17, 2021, on a representative named sample of 1,218 adult Poles.
