Orlen, Alfa Romeo to present new F1 machine in Warsaw
Polish petroleum company PKN Orlen and the Alfa Romeo Formula One team will present the new Alfa Romeo C41 F1 racing car in Warsaw on February 22, Orlen announced on Wednesday in a statement.
The car will debut in the coming Formula One season for the Alfa Romeo Racing Orlen team, which operates under the management of Frenchman Frederic Vasseur.
The Polish company also sponsors Poland's popular Formula One driver Robert Kubica.
Orlen CEO Daniel Obajtek said in a statement that the firm’s Formula One partnership with Alfa Romeo has made the Orlen brand increasingly recognisable worldwide.
The company wrote that according to the Meltwater media monitoring platform, Orlen’s involvement in Formula One racing brought it over 100,000 mentions and more than 359 billion viewings worldwide in 2020, as well as EUR 7.5 billion's worth of advertising revenue.
Obajtek stressed that the partnership with Alfa Romeo is not restricted to racing but also covers a variety of cultural events. As an example, he named both companies' sponsorship of last year's anniversary celebrations of Poland's 1920 victory over the Red Army, known as the 'Miracle on the Vistula.'
In last year's season, Alfa Romeo Racing Orlen came eighth in the Formula One constructor ranking.
