One hundred twenty-three coronavirus cases confirmed in Poland
So far, 123 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Poland, the Ministry of Health said on Sunday evening.
The new cases were reported in the Śląskie, Łódzkie and Lubuskie provinces. According to the health ministry, all of the patients are in good condition.
The ministry said in a Saturday statement that, up to now, 5,493 tests had been conducted for the presence of coronavirus.
So far, three persons in Poland have died from coronavirus.
The first case of coronavirus infection in Poland was reported on March 4, with the patient hospitalised in the western city of Zielona Góra.
The World Health Organization has declared the coronavirus a pandemic and urged aggressive action from all countries to fight it.
The new SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus causes a disease called COVID-19. Its symptoms include fever, cough, shortness of breath, muscle aches and fatigue. It is suspected that coronavirus infection, which can lead to life-threatening pneumonia, first occurred in China at the end of 2019 at a market in Wuhan, the capital of Hubei Province.
