Now that’s an arresting sight! Cop wows with her stunning artwork
A policewoman armed with a paintbrush has become an overnight sensation with her stunning artwork.
Giving a new meaning to the phrase ‘a brush with the law’, Kinga Mikołajska from the Wałbrzych police force uses acrylic on canvas to create her beautiful images.
Serving with the force for 13 years dealing with petty crimes, Kinga said that although she has been sketching since she was a child, she only began painting on canvas about a year and a half ago.
She said: “Paintings are magic, and each viewer, when looking at them, feels something completely different, regardless of whether they are abstract or realism.
“When I find a free moment in the afternoon, I reach for my brushes.
“I can then fully devote myself to my passion and transfer to another dimension for a moment.”
Now, the happily married mum has opened her first exhibition at the town’s Porcelain Museum.
Entitled ‘In the Face of Gold’ the 26 paintings focus on women, which the policewoman said “is a kind of look at art through the eyes of women.
“Each of them has its own story.”
Making headlines in local media, Kinga and her paintings have now been flooded with praise.
Writing on the Wałbrzych24 website, one reader commented: “Beautiful woman and beautiful paintings! Talent!”
Another said: “A policewoman, a pretty woman, a talented wife and mother. Way to go. A role model not only for policemen but for the whole of society.”
Yet another posted: “Congratulations and appreciation for serving society and fulfilling the role of mother and wife. Great respect for the Lady.”
