November tourism figures nosedive - stats office

The total number of tourists in Poland fell by 78.9 percent year on year in November, with the number of foreign tourists down by a 90.5 percent, the Central Statistical Office reported on Monday.

Its estimates put the number of visitors making overnight stays in tourist accommodation at 549,100 in November, of which 498,600 were Polish tourists and 50,500 were foreigners.

Compared with the same month in 2019, the number of Polish tourists was 75.8 percent lower, GUS said.

The total number of overnight stays in November was 1.3 million, down 78.4 percent on a year earlier (6.0 million) with Polish tourists accounting for 1.1 million overnight stays and foreigners 0.2 million, respectively 76.2 percent and 86.2 percent down on November 2019.
