No sharp increase in unemployment in Poland, so far - PM
Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said on Tuesday that, so far, Poland had not been hit by any sharp rise in unemployment or mass layoffs.
"At this moment, we are not yet dealing with the phenomenon of group layoffs or a sharp increase in unemployment in Poland," said the PM.
According to estimates of the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy, April's unemployment rate reached 5.7 percent.
According to the Central Statistical Office, Poland's unemployment fell to 5.4 percent in March 2020 from 5.5 percent in February.
