No progress in EU gas cap talks reports minister

EU energy ministers at a meeting in Brussels on Tuesday failed to reach an agreement on a planned price cap on gas, Poland's climate minister reported after the session.
Anna Moskwa said the talks gave her "a sense of deja vu," as earlier gas cap talks had also failed to lead to a compromise on the matter.
"The gas cap saga continues. We've met over this multiple times… We seem to be closer to a compromise with each round of talks, but every time it gets down to the actual maximum price, there are countries - we can well imagine which ones - that perhaps understand something different under the term maximum price than we do," Moskwa said.
She added that the compromise blockers seemed to want to "secure high gas prices rather than to protect the interests of European industry and Europeans."
