New US ambassador to Poland visits Warsaw Uprising Museum

The Warsaw Uprising Museum (MPW) has reported that the new US ambassador to Poland, Georgette Mosbacher, visited the museum on Monday.

In a Monday Tweet the Warsaw Uprising Museum wrote that it gave the institution a great sense of pride that the new ambassador to Poland, Georgette Mosbacher, had chosen the museum as the first cultural institution for her to visit in Warsaw.

Ambassador Mosbacher also reflected on her visit to the award-winning museum on Twitter. She wrote that, "the history of the Warsaw Uprising is the history of insurgents who risked their lives in order to fight for their city. I learned of the individual histories of these heroes, their heroism, their love of Warsaw and Poland - I was deeply moved. The museum @1944pl is an absolute +must-see+."

Georgette Mosbacher is the first woman in the history of Polish-US relations to take on the position of US ambassador in Warsaw. As commentators have pointed out, Mosbacher is not a professional diplomat, however, her strength lies in her connections to influential circles within the Republican Party and her many year acquaintance with President of the United States Donald Trump.
