New Polish visa procedures allow easier entry for Belarusians
From Thursday, Belarusians will be allowed to enter Poland via visas issued for tourist purposes and by those issued for participation in the Poland.Business Harbour programme, according to a new Ministry of Interior and Administration regulation.
The regulation signed by Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of the Interior and Administration Bartosz Grodecki was announced in the Journal of Laws on Wednesday, and the changes entered into force on Thursday. Two of them are related to the political crisis in Belarus.
One of the changes allows Belarusians to enter Poland on the basis of a visa issued for tourist purposes. "We are opening the catalogue to make it easier for Belarusians to cross the border. We've been hearing that some of them still have such visas," Grodecki told PAP.
Another change provides entry for people who obtain a visa to participate in the Poland.Business Harbour programme, coordinated by the Ministry of Development and the Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH), in cooperation with GovTech Polska at the Prime Minister’s Office, the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development (PARP) and Startup Hub Poland.
According to PAIH, the Poland.Business Harbour programme is a comprehensive package that helps Belarusian IT professionals, start-ups, SMEs and large companies to relocate seamlessly to the territory of the Republic of Poland.
Grodecki noted in the interview with PAP that, in accordance with sanitary recommendations, all persons entering Poland from Belarus will be required to undergo quarantine.
