Most Poles pessimistic about national situation - poll

The majority of Poles believe the country is heading in the wrong direction, a new survey has found.

According to a Kantar Public poll, 58 percent of people are unhappy with the way the country is heading, while 24 percent were positive about its direction.

The poll also found that 18 percent had no opinion on the matter.

Compared to a similar poll conducted in June, the negative assessment percentage was up by 5 percentage points (pps), while the proportion of positive assessments fell by 3 pps.

The survey showed that more than half of Poles (61 percent) believe the national economy is in a crisis with most of them (42 percent overall) believing it is a mild crisis and 19 percent believing the crisis is severe.

The survey was conducted between July 9 and 14, 2021, on a representative national sample of 1,004 residents of Poland aged 15 or over using the Computer-Assisted Personal Interview (CAPI) method.
