Most Poles fear judicial conflict may endanger EU funding

Up to 64 percent of Poles fear Poland's conflict with the EU over the rule of law could endanger regular EU funding, according to a new poll.

The United Surveys poll also found that 20 percent said the conflict, which has blocked Poland's access to a EU post-pandemic recovery fund, will not endanger the regular funds.

Sixteen percent were undecided.

Concern for the future of Poland's regular funding was expressed by 44 percent of supporters of the ruling Law and Justice (PiS) party, while 41 percent believed Poland's funding faced no danger.

But 69 percent of supporters of the main opposition grouping Civic Coalition (KO) feared the funds could be blocked.

United Surveys carried out the mixed-mode poll for the Dziennik Gazeta Prawna (DGP) daily newspaper on October 21-23 on a random sample of 1,000 Poles.
