Mobile operators generate 34 pct of Poland's web traffic - report

Mobile networks such as Orange, Plus, T-Mobile and Play generate 34 percent of all website traffic, according to a recent study conducted on over 600,000 websites serviced by Poland's largest provider of hosting services, nazwa.pl.

According to the report, currently over 28 million Poles use the internet, and their number is still growing. Not only is the number of web users increasing, but also the number of websites people visit. The survey shows that the share of visits through mobile devices is also growing.

The report said that landline networks are the most popular way of accessing the internet, as 66 percent of people choose this option.

It is also stated that Orange is generating fifty-eight percent of all web traffic among mobile network operators, which gives the company a leading position on the market. The report's authors explained that the best results of the company stem from the fact that Orange previously operated as the national operator under the brand Telekomunikacja Polska. The next positions on the market are taken by Plus, generating 15 percent of traffic, T-Mobile - 14 percent and Play - 13 percent.
