Main event of European Robotics Week to take place in Poland
Representatives of companies and institutions from several European countries will take part in discussions about the future of robotics and artificial intelligence in Poznań, western Poland, from Thursday to Saturday.
European Robotics Week is a series of events that will take place throughout Europe. According to organisers, Poznan is the first Polish city to host the central event.
One of the leading topics of the discussions and lectures will be the autonomy of robots. Guests are expected from several countries, including Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Finland, Serbia and Sweden.
The theme of this year's meeting is the union of robotics with artificial intelligence. Dr. Krzysztof Walas, from the Poznań Institute of Technology, told PAP there will be lectures and discussions on how certain devices work, on how a robot perceives the world and the application of artificial intelligence to robots.
According to the International Federation of Robotics, the average sales of industrial robots in 2020-2022 will increase by 14 percent in Europe. Companies in Poland are also becoming more interested in investing in such solutions.
European Robotics Week events have been orgainised across Europe since 2011, by euRobotics, an international non-profit organisation based in Brussels. It associates more than 250 companies, universities and research institutions from many branches of the robotics industry.
