Lithuanian president starts visit to Poland

Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaite on Thursday afternoon started her two-day visit to Poland. She was officially welcomed by Polish President Andrzej Duda in the courtyard of the Presidential Palace in Warsaw.

A meeting of the two delegations will follow the presidential face-to-face talks. Then Polish and Lithuanian defence ministers, Mariusz Błaszczak and Raimundas Karoblis will sign a military cooperation deal.

Dalia Grybauskaite will also meet Polish lower and upper house speakers, Marek Kuchciński and Stanisław Karczewski.

The Polish president will host an official dinner for his Lithuanian counterpart in the Presidential Palace on Thursday evening.

On Friday, Grybauskaite will meet with Polish PM Mateusz Morawiecki in Warsaw. Later, in the eastern city of Lublin, she and Duda will lay a wreath at the Union of Lublin Monument, marking the 450th anniversary of the historic union of the two neighbouring nations.

On Friday afternoon, Grybauskaite, Duda and Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko will meet in Lublin and visit the headquarters of a Lithuanian-Polish-Ukrainian brigade, the LITPOLUKRBRIG.
