Large investments help develop Poland - president

President Andrzej Duda said on Tuesday that large investments contributed to Poland's development. Duda made the statement on the construction site of the S-61 Via Baltica expressway in central Poland.
"This is one of the most important roads in Europe," the president said, adding that it was a remedy for all economic problems facing Poland's eastern regions. He also said that today "this investment means jobs and earnings for families, while in the future - business and tourism development."
According to President Duda, the S-61 is one of the most important roads in Europe, especially in Central Europe, and is also of crucial significance for the Three Seas Initiative. The head of state stated that it will make it possible to connect the A2 highway with a road leading to the Lithuanian border, and going further via Latvia and Estonia, it will link the Baltic States with Southern Europe.
The president promised that large investments would continue in Poland since "every wise authority and every human being, who wants to hold power in Poland, must be aware of the fact that such large investments make it possible for us to overcome the most difficult economic problems."
"I believe that owing to these large investments, our economy will survive this difficult time and will continue to develop dynamically," he said.
When ready, the Polish S61 Via Baltica stretch will be 341 kilometres long.
The Three Seas Initiative is a project that focuses on cross-border infrastructural cooperation of countries located between the Baltic, Black and Adriatic Seas.
