Kraków and Poznań in Top 10 best Xmas destinations in Europe

Kraków has become the fourth most Googled destination for Brits looking to getaway at Christmas.

Analysing the search term ‘Christmas in…,’ over the past year, Kraków finished ahead of popular destinations such as Bergen, Norway, Basel and Zurich, Switzerland and Copenhagen, Denmark.

Poland also finished high on the country search list, with nearly 20,000 British searches for Christmas in Poland, insurance4carhire which carried out the research found.

The most popular country destinations were Spain, France and Germany.

Last year, Kraków was also named European Capital of Gastronomic Culture for 2019 with 26 eateries recommended in the Michelin Guide.

Marcin Filipkiewicz, Head Chef at the Copernicus Hotel, told TFN: “Kraków and Warsaw have been under Michelin inspections and inspectors for many years.

“During these years, our city has never been very different from the ratings given to top restaurants in the world, yet Krakow was not seriously rated on the gastronomic map of Poland.”

Kraków is not the only Polish city attracting Christmas travellers with Poznań being voted the 6th best Christmas Market in Europe by over 200,000 travellers who voted on europeanbestdestinations.com.
