Korean firm to invest EUR 837 mln in production plant in Poland
SK IE Innovation, a Korean global energy and chemical concern, will invest PLN 3.9 billion (EUR 837.6 million) in two factories producing separators for batteries for electric vehicles in Poland, a leading newspaper has reported.
The factory, planned to be built in Dabrowa Gornicza, southern Poland, will be the largest plant operated by SK IE Technology, a subsidiary of SK IE Innovation. Once operating, it should account for more than half of the firm’s global production of separators, the Puls Biznesu daily wrote on Tuesday.
Together with another two investments already underway (SK IE Technology calls them factories 1 and 2), the construction of which the concern announced in 2019 and 2020, the Koreans will produce 1.54 billion square metres of separators in Poland.
