Intercity rail carrier handles record number of passengers
Passenger railway carrier PKP Intercity reported that on August 18 the company saw a daily record in the number of transported passengers, PKP Intercity has said in a statement.
On that day, PKP Intercity carried 212,000 passengers, 13 percent more than on the best day of 2018, the company said.
Last year, the daily record in the number of travelers fell on August 19. At that time, PKP Intercity transported 187,000 people.
"Looking at the daily record of 2015, which was 122,000 passengers, one can clearly see a large increase in popularity of rail travel," the statement read.
