Independence programme to build Poland's image abroad - culture min
The "Niepodległa" (Independence) programme, prepared by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage also includes plans for celebrating Poland's centenary of regaining independence abroad, Culture Minister Piotr Gliński said at a conference on Monday.
The minister explained that the programme is aimed at building Poland's image and the promotion of Polish culture abroad.
"Over PLN 20 million (EUR 4.7 mln) is being allocated to bottom-up activities, selected through competitions, so that citizens may also jointly create the programme of Poland's centenary of regaining independence celebrations," the minister said.
According to Gliński, 240 cultural events have been organised abroad in the scope of the celebrations, they include 76 concerts, 56 performances, 39 exhibitions, 37 workshops and 17 conferences.
