Incumbent president receives 43.5 pct of votes - official results
Incumbent Polish President Andrzej Duda, supported by the ruling Law and Justice party, won 43.5 percent of the votes during the first round of the presidential election held on June 28 , the State Electoral Commission officially announced on Tuesday morning.
Rafal Trzaskowski, candidate of the Civic Platform, placed second with 30.46 percent. The two will meet in the run-off vote on July 12.
Support for the remaining candidates was as follows: Szymon Hołownia - 13.87 pct, Krzysztof Bosak - 6.78 pct, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz 2.36 pct, Robert Biedroń - 2.22 pct. Support for each of the remaining candidates stood below 1 percent.
Voter turnout amounted to 64.51 percent.
