Incumbent president leads voter support poll ahead of elections

In the first round of presidential elections, the Incumbent President Andrzej Duda could count on 41 percent of the vote, ahead of opposition Civic Coalition (KO) candidate Rafał Trzaskowski on 27.1 percent, a survey by IBRIS for the Wp.pl portal shows.

Support for Duda, rose by 0.3 percentage points since the previous poll conducted for wp.pl last week, while Trzaskowski's backing fell by 0.9 percentage points.

Independent conservative candidate Szymon Hołownia saw his support at 8.9 percent, 1.1 pps more than in the previous week.

Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, the head of the agrarian Polish People's Party, could count on 7.3 percent, down by 2.4 pps.

Krzysztof Bosak, candidate of the far-right Confederation was supported by 5.6 percent of those polled, down by 1.5 pps.

The Left candidate Robert Biedroń saw his support edge up by 1.2 pps to 4.2 percent.

The remaining candidates fared as follows: Stanisław Żółtek from the Congress of the New Right on 0.5 percent, Marek Jakubiak (Federation for Poland) on 0.4 percent, Mirosław Piotrowski (True Europe Movement) on 0.1 percent, Paweł Tanajno (independent) on 0.2 percent and Waldemar Witkowski from the Labour Union with 0 percent backing.

The presidential election will be held on June 28.

The survey was conducted on June 12-13, 2020.
