Iga Świątek wins WTA tournament in Stuttgart

Polish tennis star Iga Świątek beat Belarus's Aryna Sabalenka in the final of the 2023 Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in Stuttgart, Germany, on Sunday.

Świątek, the world number-one women's tennis player, beat Sabalenka in straight sets, 6:3, 6:4, to take the 13th title of her career.

The two women, currently leading the global rankings, met in the final of the same event last year when Świątek won 6:2, 6:2.

The Stuttgart event was Świątek’s first after a break of several weeks due to a rib injury.

Her prize for winning the event is USD 120,000 and a Porsche Taycan.
