Here she comes! Largest plane in the world lands in Warsaw with COVID-19 supplies

Initiated by the PM’s office, the ‘mother of all planes’ landed to cheers.
Measuring 84 metres long, the Soviet-built aircraft is capable of transporting a space shuttle or 100 passenger cars.
The aircraft’s arrival was a plane-spotters dream.
The flight was arranged by Poland’s copper mining giant KGHM Polska Miedź and the oil processing company Lotos at the behest of the Prime Minister’s Office.
The supplies from China are designated for frontline medical staff battling coronavirus.
After unloading its supplies at Chopin airport, the next country in line to use it is France.
PM Mateusz Morawiecki was at the airport to greet the plane’s arrival.
The consists of 7 million masks, hundreds of thousands of protective overalls and several hundred thousand face shields.
The one-of-its kind airplane was built in 1988 in the USSR and is commercially used by Ukraine’s Antonov Airlines to transport heavy goods.
This is the second flight co-organised by KGHM, the first being in late March. To date, the total value of equipment bought by the copper giant amounts to around USD 15 mln.
