Health minister says postal voting the only possibility during epidemic

Polish Health Minister Lukasz Szumowski expressed his conviction on Monday that postal voting was the safest method and the only one that could be carried out during the epidemic.
Asked by reporters whether he was taking into account a mixed voting method during this year's presidential election, Szumowski said he had already presented his recommendation.
The mixed method offers the possibility of postal voting as well as casting a ballot card in polling stations.
"I believe that postal voting is the safest during the epidemic," he repeated.
The presidential election was planned to be held on May 10. On Sunday, the State Electoral Commission (PKW) announced that there was no possibility to vote during the presidential elections scheduled for May 10, and that the Sejm speaker "within 14 days of the publication of the PKW's resolution shall set a date for new elections, which should be held within 60 days from its announcement."
