Head of state most trusted politician in Poland - poll

Andrzej Duda, the Polish president, continues to be the politician most deserving of trust, indicate the results of a new poll.

According the findings of the CBOS poll, Andrzej Duda held the trust of 58 percent of respondents (up 1 percentage point on a previous poll), while 29 percent said that they did not trust him (down 1 percentage point).

Second place in the ranking was held by Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki who was trusted by 46 percent of the pollees (up 3 percentage points), whereas 40 percent were of the opposite opinion (down by 5 percentage points).

Warsaw Mayor Rafal Trzaskowski took the third spot with 41 percent of the respondents showing trust in him (down 3 percentage points) and 38 percent expressing distrust (up 2 percentage points).

Fourth on the list was Szymon Holownia, leader of the Poland 2050 party, who was trusted by 39 percent of those surveyed (down 5 percentage points) and distrusted by 30 percent (no change on previous poll).

Rounding out the top five was Defence Minister Mariusz Blaszczak who was trusted by 38 percent of those polled (up 2 percentage points) and distrusted by 28 percent (down 4 percentage points).

Ruling Law and Justice party leader placed sixth and had the trust of 36 percent of those queried (up 3 percentage points) and was not trusted by 51 percent (down 6 percentage points).

The survey was carried out between May 2-12, 2022 on a sample of 1,087 citizens of Poland.
