Government plans separate ministry of sport

The government has unveiled plans to re-establish a ministry of sport in a draft decree published on Monday, just a few months after the old ministry was abolished.

The old Ministry of Sport came to an end in March when it was merged with the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.

But, under the decree, sport will now break away from its current home. 

A commentary attached to the decree says that the new Ministry of Sport will be staffed by Culture Ministry employees now responsible for sport.

The government is expected to pass the decree in the fourth quarter of this year.
