Polish President Andrzej Duda has named General Jaroslaw Mika as the general commander of the Branches of the Armed Forces for another term, the National Security Bureau (BBN) announced on Wednesday.

An official handing-over ceremony of the nomination will be held at Warsaw's Belvedere Palace on Thursday.

"President of the Republic of Poland Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces Andrzej Duda, on the basis of Art. 134 paragraph 3 of the Constitution of the Republic of Poland, has named for a further term General Jaroslaw Mika for the position of General Commander of the Branches of the Armed Forces," the BBN announced.

In November last year, the president promoted Mika to the highest level of the general's rank, at the request of Defence Minister Mariusz Blaszczak.
