French President Emmanuel Macron is expected to visit Poland in the first months of the next year, Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki has told the French daily "Ouest-France" and the German media group Funke.

"I hope for a new opening," Morawiecki said, adding that Poland and France have already agreed on general arrangements concerning the visit and its date.

The French daily wrote that relations between Paris and Warsaw had deteriorated after Poland's withdrawal from the purchase of French-made Caracal helicopters for its armed forces.

In the Polish prime minister's opinion, although "there have been some tensions", relations between the two countries "are not so bad," he told the daily.

Direct French investments are already being implemented in Poland and Warsaw "is keen on Polish-French economic cooperation," Morawiecki added.
