Four new coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Poland, the Health Ministry reported on Friday. The fresh cases bring the total infection count to five.
The north-western city of Szczecin and the south-western city of Wroclaw are among the locations of the new coronavirus patients, Health Minister Lukasz Szumowski told a press conference.
One of the patients had been travelling with Poland's patient zero on a bus from Germany, Szumowski said. Two other people have returned from Italy and are in Szczecin. The fourth person lives in Wroclaw. "All patients are under medical care," the minister said.
On Saturday morning, Szumowski said the four people infected with coronavirus are in stable condition and there is no information that their lives are threatened. He also said it is too early to talk about the coronavirus epidemic in Poland.
The new virus, first detected in China, has infected more than 95,000 people globally and caused nearly 3,300 deaths. The World Health Organization has named the illness COVID-19, referring to its origin late last year and the coronavirus that causes it.
